Smothered Smoked Turkey Tails 



6 Smoked Turkey Tails

1/2 Green Bell Pepper, chopped

1 Stalk Celery, chopped

1 Small Onion, chopped

1 Tbs Butter

4 Tbs All-Purpose Flour

3 Cups Chicken Broth

2 Chicken Flavor Bouillon Cubes

1 Tsp Salt

1 Tsp Garlic Powder

1 Tsp Onion Powder

1 Tsp Thyme

1 Tsp Parsley Flakes

1/2 Tsp Black Pepper




1. Rinse your turkey tails with cool water.

2. Chop your peppers, celery, and onion into small to medium size pieces.


3. Combine your broth and flour, then stir in well until flour is dissolved to create a slurry.


4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

5. Place chopped vegetables into baking dish.

6. Add your turkey tails, bouillon cubes, and seasoning.


7. Afterwards, add your butter and slurry.

8. Cover with an aluminum foil and bake for 3 hours.

9. After 2 hours, remove the aluminum foil and stir the gravy. Recover with aluminum foil and continue baking for an additional hour.

  • I’m so looking forward to preparing this recipe. I’m prepping now but I’m a little confused and hoping u can clarify. In the video you placed the gravy in the pan and put in the oven for 2hrs but on your website where the recipe and instructions are posted it says to cook the turkey tails for 2hrs and then pour the gravy in the pan and cook for an additional 1hr totaling 3hrs. When u put the turkey tails in the oven in the beginning the only thing that should b in the pan is the turkey tails, veggies, butter and bouillon cubes?
