Ingredients
- 4 lbs Beef Short Ribs
- 1–1/2 Cups Yellow Onions, Thinly Sliced
- 1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 Tbs Butter
- 5 Tbs All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Cups Chicken Broth
- 2 Cups Water
- 1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 4 Tsp Minced Garlic
- 4 Tsp Salt
- 2 Tsp Paprika
- 2 Tsp Garlic powder
- 2 Tsp Onion Powder
- 1 Tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 Tsp Thyme
Instructions
- Place the ribs in a baking dish.
- Season both sides of the ribs.
- Place a skillet over medium-high heat and add the oil.
- After 1 minute, add the ribs.
- Sear on both sides for 4 minutes, then set in the baking pan.
- Combine the broth, water, and vinegar.
- Add the butter to the skillet.
- Once it melts, add the onions and saute for 3 minutes.
- Then stir in the minced garlic and continue cooking for another minute.
- Stir in the flour for 2 minutes or until it’s no longer white in color.
- Deglaze the skillet: Stir in the liquid and whisk well.
- Let it simmer for 4 minutes until the flour is smooth and the gravy thickens a bit.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Pour the gravy in the baking dish over the ribs.
- Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake until tender, about 2 hours.
