Description

Creamy, cheesy,  stovetop macaroni & cheese, made with milk, butter, and cheddar cheese. The perfect side dish for children and a great alternative to baked mac & cheese.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz Elbow Macaroni 
  • 11/2 Tbs Butter
  • 3 Qts Water
  • 11/2 Cups Whole Milk
  • 16 oz Sharp Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 11/2 Tsps Salt or to taste
  • 2 Tsps Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper

Instructions

  1.  Fill a large pot with water and place over high heat.
  2.  After 10 minutes, or once it comes to a boil, add macaroni, and boil for 10 minutes, then drain immediately and sit aside.
  3.  Place a large skillet over medium heat (5).
  4.  Add the milk, butter, cheese, seasonings, and sugar, then stir in well and cook for 8 minutes or until it melts into a smooth cheese sauce. (Stir periodically)
  5.  Once the cheese melts into a cheese sauce, add the macaroni, then stir in well. 
  6.  Let the macaroni and cheese simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
