Description
An old-school, homemade, black folks’ lemonade recipe that you and your family will love. It’s super sweet with a mild refreshing hit of lemon flavor; Making it the perfect drink for dinner, backyard picnics, and summer cookouts.
Ingredients
- 4 Qts Spring Water
- 1 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice
- 4 Cups White Sugar
Add-Ins
- Lemon Peels
Instructions
- Place a large pot over high heat.
- Add 4 quarts of water.
- Preheat until it comes to a rolling boil, about 12-15 minutes.
- Remove from the heat.
- Meanwhile, slice 6 lemons in half.
- Extract 1 cup of lemon juice using a citrus juicer.
- Pour the lemon juice into a pitcher.
- Add the lemon pulp.
- Add the lemon peels.
- Add in the sugar.
- Pour in the warm water, then stir well.
- Place the lemonade in the refrigerator to chill.
Notes
- If you’re short on time, skip boiling the water. Make sure to stir the sugar in for 1-2 minutes until it’s well dissolved in the water.
- I would recommend boiling the water if you’re using spigot water and don’t have any spring water on hand.
