Description
Delicious, strawberry lemonade made with fresh lemons, white sugar, and homemade strawberry syrup. The perfect beverage for family dinner and summer cookouts.
Ingredients
- 4 Qts Spring Water
- 1–1/2 Cups Lemon Juice
- 2 Cups Sugar
Strawberry Syrup
- 4 Lbs Strawberries
- 2 Cups Sugar
Add-Ins
- 6 Sliced Strawberries
Instructions
- Slice the strawberries in half and set 12 pieces aside for later.
- Add the strawberries to a large bowl.
- Add 2 cups of sugar and toss until fully coated.
- Place in the refrigerator for 1 hour to macerate.
- Place a large pot over high heat.
- Add 4 quarts of water.
- Preheat until it comes to a rolling boil, about 12-15 minutes.
- Remove from the heat.
- Meanwhile, slice 6 lemons in half.
- Extract 1 cup of lemon juice using a citrus juicer.
- Pour the lemon juice into a pitcher.
- Add the lemon pulp
- Add the sliced strawberries.
- Add 2 cups of sugar.
- Pour in the warm water, then stir well.
- Mash the strawberries to release the syrup.
- Place a strainer over a bowl.
- Pour the syrup into the bowl through the strainer.
- Pour the syrup into the pitcher.
- Stir well and refrigerate to chill.
Notes
- If you’re short on time, skip boiling the water. Make sure to stir the sugar in for 1-2 minutes until it’s well dissolved in the water.
- I would recommend boiling the water if you’re using spigot water and don’t have any spring water on hand.
- Before adding the syrup to the pitcher, make sure to scoop out any thick, fuzzy film that may have risen to the top.
