Description
Juicy, soul-food style collard greens seasoned with Lawry’s Seasoning Salt, then cooked in broth. Often served as a side dish, this tastes great with cornbread, ribs, and potato salad.
Ingredients
- 1 Lb (16 oz) Frozen Chopped Collard Greens
- 2 Cups Chicken Broth
- 1–1/2 Tbs Butter
- 2 Tsps Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1–1/2 Tbs Sugar
- 1–1/2 Tsp Seasoning Salt or to taste
- 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1/8 Tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Place a skillet over high heat then add in the broth.
- After 3 minutes, or when the broth comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium high.
- Add the collard greens, butter, vinegar, seasonings, and sugar, then stir well.
- Let the greens cook for 17-18 minutes or until desired tenderness.
(Stir periodically)
Notes
- If you don’t like your greens on the spicy side, leave out the cayenne pepper!
