Hey guys! Today, I’m gonna show yall a quick and easy way to make FROZEN green beans. As you can see, I emphasized the word FROZEN because that’s the operative word here!!!  I decided to create a FROZEN green beans recipe because those are the type of green beans most people make – especially those of us who have to come home and prepare dinner for our family after a long day of work.

A lot of people buy them because they’re a quick and easy alternative to fresh vegetables, which can take up to two hours to cook when you include all the time it takes to cut, wash, and prep them. Frozen vegetables don’t require all that labor which makes them the perfect alternative.

I’m laughing to myself as I type this recipe because I keep referring to them as “green beans.” Well, in the black community, a lot of older folks call them string beans. My grandmother would always say, “Sit those frozen bag of string beans on the counter so I can cook em later fo dinna.” Lol! And I would always wonder why she called them “string beans” when the bag clearly read “FROZEN CUT GREEN BEANS“!

Well, it turns out a lot of people call them string beans instead of green beans because there was a tough string that ran through green beans. But about 30-40 years ago, those old varieties of green beans were bred out and became obsolete so most green beans you see nowadays are stringless.

Anyway, Ima stop yapping about this because Im sure most of yall only interested in how I make’em taste good! I just wanted to share that lil green bean/string bean history with y’all. Aint nothing wrong with a lil edumacation! LMBO!

What ingredients you use to get your frozen vegetables to taste good because everytime I make them they taste so bland?

People always ask me this about frozen vegetables“What seasonings do you use?”  Well, to answer that question, the three seasonings people commonly use to season their vegetables are salt (or Lawry’s Seasoned Salt), garlic, and black pepper. You won’t find too many vegetable recipes that don’t include salt, garlic, and pepper.

Now, I like to use those seasonings as well, but I use them in conjunction with onion powder, a pinch of sugar (yes, sugar, because it makes the green beans pop), apple cider vinegar, and chicken broth! This combination of ingredients, in the right amounts, will take your green beans to another level – TRUST ME!

Why Choose Frozen Green Beans Over Fresh?

People say frozen vegetables are bland… well, they don’t have to be. Frozen green beans are a quick alternative to fresh vegetables, which take more time to wash, cut, and prep. You’ll appreciate how easy frozen green beans are, especially after a long day of work.

For additional flavor, you can add smoked meat to your green beans. If you have any leftover pork or turkey meat in the fridge from a previous meal, just shred it and add it to the beans. Turkey and pork meat taste the best in green beans. Now I usually don’t add any meat to my frozen green beans, but if I do, I’ll use bacon.

Ok ima let yall go now but listen… these green beans are good so if you’re looking for a good frozen green beans recipe, check this bad boys out. And leave a comment below letting us know how you like them.
Enjoy, later!
