Homemade cobbler filled with sweet juicy peaches and topped with a moist flaky crust. I fell in love with Peach Cobbler back in the 90’s as a kid when my mom use to always make it. My father was the baker in the house who’d bake delicious moist chocolate cakes, cobblers, and pies but my mom’s Peach Cobbler was A+. I use the sliced peaches that come in a can of syrup because I personally think they taste better than fresh. But this classic American desert is a must try. It taste great with ice cream and is the perfect dessert for movie night with friends or family so give it a shot!
Hey, PBJ’s! This peach cobbler is the BOMB! It’s so good my mother’s coworkers were begging her to bring more to work and one even paid me to make them a dish. Peach cobbler is probably my favorite desert. I love it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side, there’s nothing like it. It’s perfect as a desert for a late night family movie and it’s even a bit romantic.. the perfect desert to share a big bowl of with your spouse. And no, DON’T top it with WHIPPED CREAM, that’s sacrilegious top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I hate when people top it with whipped cream, ice cream is the way to go! Peach cobbler is very hearty and the perfect dessert for winter with a nice hot come of tea on the side. Let’s get to the preparation process because it takes a little time to prepare.
I won’t talk much about the filling because that’s pretty simple but properly preparing the pie crust is very important because just one mistake can completely ruin it. So what you wanna do first is get a processor and add in the flour. Now whenever I make a pie crust, besides salt, butter, and water which are always used in pie crust, I add in seasonings that will enhance the flavor of that dish. For example when I make pie crust for my chicken pop pies, I add in a little chicken seasoning or seasoning salt to give the pie crust the flavor of that dish. So when I make pie crust for peach cobbler, I sprinkle in a little sugar and cinnamon just to give the crust a little taste and flavor.
Anyway, after adding in the flour I add in the salt, cinnamon, sugar, and butter. I use a lot of butter because I not only want the pie crust to be flaky but I want it to be moist. I use cold almost freezing butter. I chop the butter into small pieces so it’s easier to blend. Then I blend everything until I’m left with crumbs. I usually only add half of the flour and butter, then add the remaining flour and butter because it’s hard for the processor to work it’s magic when you add all of it at once. Once I’m left with nothing but crumbs I place them in a big mixing bowl.
What I do next is combine the milk and crumbs and squeeze it together to create a big ball of dough. Make sure not to overwork the dough, try to bring the crumbs together to form a ball of dough with little hand work as possible. It takes time but try not to overwork the dough too much. Once a ball of dough is formed, I dust it with flour and flatten it out into the shape of a disk with a rolling pin. I wrap it with plastic wrap and set it in the refrigerator until I’m done with the peaches. Afterwards, I sprinkle flour over a flat surface and dust my rolling pin with flour. I flatten out the disk of dough with the rolling pin until it’s about 1/8 inch thick. Then, I wrap the pie crust around the rolling pin, lift it up, and lay it over the peaches in the baking dish. Make sure to remove the excess edges of dough that doesn’t fit in the baking dish.
Now… this step is key too because without doing this step you maybe left with very light pie crust. You want to brush the crust with melted butter and garnish it with a nice amount of Cinnamon to help give the Peach Cobbler a nice brown crust. Brown crust is not only aesthetically appealing and traditional but appetizing.
Ok folks that’s enough info for now! Give this peach cobbler a shot though because it’s super good! I mean it just can’t get too much better and simpler than this so what you have to lose? You can print the recipe below and please give the recipe a good rating if you like it and comment below.
Enjoy, later!

Ingredients
- Pie Crust
- 3 + 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Cup Butter, cold and chopped
- 6 Tbs Cold Buttermilk
- 1 Tbs Sugar
- 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1 Tsp Salt
- Filling
- (2) 29oz Cans Del Monte Sliced Peaches In Syrup
- 2 Cups, reserved Peach Juice (drain the rest)
- 1/2 Cup WaterÂ
- 1/4 Cup Cornstarch
- 1/2 Cup Butter, melted
- 2 Tsps Lemon Juice
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Cup White Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 Tsp Nutmeg
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- Pie Crust Topping
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 1–1/2 Tsp CinnamonÂ
Instructions
- Â Add the flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and butter to processor then blend until crumbs.
- Â Add to a big mixing bowl.
- Â Add the buttermilk.
- Â Bring the crumbs together with your hands and create a big ball of dough.
- Â Wrap the ball of dough in plastic wrap and sit it in the refrigerator so it stays cold.
- Â Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Â Open the cans of peaches, and strain the peach syrup, reserving 2 cups of the syrup.
- Â Add the peaches and syrup to the baking dish..
- Â Then add in the lemon juice, vanilla, melted butter, all the spices, sugar, and salt, then stir well.
- Â In a small bowl, stir the water and cornstarch together until it’s lump free then add to the baking dish of peaches.
- Â Add the additional 1/2 cup flour to a flat surface and dust your rolling pin with the flour.
- Â Get the dough and dust it with flour and flatten it with the rolling pin.
*Make sure the dough is well coated with flour so it doesn’t stick to the surface or rolling pin. Also don’t roll it out too thin just wide enough to cover the length and width of the dish you’re adding it to. But make sure it’s kinda thick, the thicker the more moist and flaky the crust will be* -  With a brush, dust off the flour, wrap the rolled out crust around the rolling pin, lift and lay it in the baking dish over the peaches.
- Â Melt the 1/4 cup of butter and brush the top of the pie crust with it and garnish lightly with the Cinnamon.
- Â Place the dish in the oven and bake for 1 hour.
